Regardless of what you think about Obama's experience, etc. He clearly picked a better running mate.

Its funny how flipflopped it is, but equals out, aint it? =) McCain has tons of experience, but his VP pick has little experience.

Obama has little experience, but his VP has lots of experience.

hah, just had a perfect way of explaining marriage and unplanned pregnancy to kids.

1 - give them like 3 days of total freedom to play games, run around, be crazy, whatever.
2 - punish them in the house with constant chores for a week, no games, playtime or friends
3 - explain to them that the 3 days of freedom is their life before children, marriage or relationships, and then explain that the week of chore duty punishment is the rest of their lives if they have children or get married or into committed relationships.

Problem solved, kids will be terrified to even touch another person in a romantic/sexual way. =D

Though I'd say it's more important your president had experience rather than your VP!

Here's the thing, conservatives like this woman attack everyone's personal life.  They want absistence only education, they want Creationism in schools, they want to ban same-sex relationships, they want to take women's rights to birth control away, and so forth.

and liberals want to encourage children to engage in sex, destroy family values,  kill babies, and so forth.

You are missing the very meaning of the term liberal, which is freedom.  Liberals think that consenting adults should be able to marry whoever they want to, conservatives say they cant.  Liberals say that school should be religiously free and that you should be free to teach your kid any religion you want, conservatives say you have to pray to Jesus at school and learn the Ten Commandments.

Do you see where we are going with this?  How are liberals the bad guys?  How do you force freedom down someone's throut?

A great comparison would be two friends at a resturaunt.  The liberal friend doesn't care what the conservative friend eats, he thinks we should all make our own choices, but the conservative think that you shouldn't be allowed to eat beef because for whatever reason he likes cows.  The liberal does not entrude upon the conservative, but the conservative does entrude on the liberal by telling the him that he cannot eat beef.

The problem is... Liberals aren't like that in the US.  It may be different in the UK.

However... "Liberals" are for curbing a lot of freedoms as well.

Gun Control, TV Control, taking away decision making choices from parents, etc.

Not to mention all the backwords buisness handling.

There is no true Libertarian party in the US.  Who would be the real Liberals.

The Dems are just called that because people consider real Libertarains wackos for wanting things like Drugs legal.

Which is exactly why I keep saying that conservatism in this country only has to path to end up like Saudi Arabia, Taliban, etc.

In America, the term Conservative and Liberal are political push-button names that dont mean exactly what they should.

The free market is liberal, no gun control is liberal, and so forth.  I'm sure you've heard the term liberal economies, which means right-wing free markets.  Likewise, a controlled market and gun control is a authoritarion/conservative standpoint.

Essentially, both liberals and conservative have characteristics of each other but arrive at different conclusions for where people should have freedoms and where they shouldnt.  It seems like conservatives want a liberal economy and a authoritarian society while liberals want an authoritarian economy and a liberal society.  I guess everyone wants some freedom and some control in their lives.

Its partisan politics at its worst, they hate Sarah Palin because she is the Republican vice presidential nominee ...

The sad thing is that most people are pretty fair and rational in the standards they hold people to except when it comes to partisan politics; if these people were as understanding of the flaws of everyone as they are of their favourite candidate the world would be a very nice place to live, and if they were as meanspirited about the (supposed) failings of everyone as they were about their opponent the world would devolve to anarchy as everyone resorted to climbing into trees and throwing their own feces at eachother.

We definitely need a stronger Libertarian presence in this country and a smaller Religious Right presence. Then the country will debate issues that actually matter.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Which is why they both suck.

Me i'm for the Teddy Roosevelt doctrine.  Stay the hell out of everyones lives and only interfere in buisnesses when trustbusting/stopping them from outright lieing.

Though that's also why i'm voting for McCain.  Most likely to come through on that.

None of the social issues are ever going to change.  Sure i'd like gay marriage to be legal... but like 70%+ of the country is against it.

The social issues won't change cause the parties don't want them too... they'e too big wedge issues.

I mean.... Obama is against gay marriage.... Kerry is against gay marriage.... but Kerry lost a lot of votes because he wasn't "against it enough."
