Forums - Microsoft - Molyneux rates Fable II "9 out of 10"

Guys he wasn't rating his game in the way a critic does. He was saying how close he thinks the final product fulfills his original vision. Which is a completely different perspective and one that has absolutely nothing to do with games reviewers. He's saying he's got it very close to what he wanted the game to be like. One can only hope what he wants is similar to what the majority of people who buy the game want.

Careful, Molyneux....you´ll attract the wrath of starcraft with anything less than a 9.9 :P

I will get VERY violent if this game isn't fantastic.

I hope it is. I plan on buying it and playing it. But if I was to bet, I am on the fence. An RPG without a HUD is risky. No one yet has done it well, and that's because most RPG fans are stat freaks. We want to see where our health is, how much mana we have left, etc...

If you remove those and use visual clues, you lose a lot. The first thing you usually lose, is fidelity. You have something like 4 or 5 states of health. This means you need to tone down the fighting a bit so the user can take advantage. In the end, you end up making the game too easy (or too hard).

He might pull, but I have my doubts. Let's hope he does.

So Molyneux is an arrogant pig for saying that his game is a 9/10 when asked if it was good?

No, he has said a thousand things in the past to give him that title. This is nothing.
