Halo 3, if I'm not mistaken, was gold for under a month before it launched - and it sold more units worldwide in 1 week than F1 did it's entire lifespan....So printing enough units isn't something that takes a very long time (although there is lead time if we're looking at a title that will ship over 1m copies week-1).

It is a good sign that they have put everything that they wanted to into the game already. They weren't stretched for time. Its a good sign that everything went well with development and that we have an awesome game about to reach our hands.

They really ought to bump the date from a sales perspective and pick a time with no major releases close to it. Might steal some sales that way. I'd like to see it release a good bit before Fallout.
