Whoa there.

Pot, Kettle, black.

I wish we could all call out someone for doing the exact same thing that we did not too long ago. This is the exact same thing, posting something highly speculative is something you've done before, why hate on this guy?

Except there was evidence... Note the lack of said evidence in this case?

I think its more the case of you smoking the pot and calling the kettle Sally.

Tease.

LOL!

The last line was funny.

OT:

So a picture of some computer is evidence.  Hold on, I just came into some evidence that MS is screwing the indie developer:

This hastily scrawled note tells the tale of a developer, who is being screwed by Microsoft.  I know it's hard to read, but you have to believe me it's there.  And now this story is true.

So, let's lay off this guy, okay?

There is a difference between a person posting an editorial piece ranting about something that he has absolutely no understanding of, and posting photo evidence of a strongly-held rumor.

And by the way, that picture was 110% right. It confirmed EVERYTHING despite the fact YOU were one of the main detractors of the article. Get over it. Just because you hate me doesn't mean that you need to keep bringing up an article that you were wrong over.

You may want to go back and read the headline from the article:
Thanks to an amazing VGChartz member, we have strong reason to believe the Ars Technica price drop rumor is indeed true, with a photo to prove it

Did you notice that it didn't say that it confirmed the rumor...Only that there was strong reason to believe that it was true? What was 100% certain about that? Oh, and by the way, that article was posted 3 weeks before the advertisments went out that confirmed the price drop, which gave readers a 3 week edge on what's going on in the industry. 3 weeks! That's huge!

And then, in comparison, we have a shoddy article that is relying on facts and statements made by Microsoft a year ago, and had very little substance by the writer concerning the plight of actual developers. There was only 1 quote by a dev - which was Jonathan Blow after 1 week of Braid sales. He never bothered looking through ANY other aritcles JB wrote that gave the progress and updates of Braid sales - Braid has sold about 5 times the number of copies since he quoted that article! How, as a writer, can you have any journalistic integrity by not researching your subject?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

And by the way: The article says at the VERY start that the picture was concerning the Ars Technica rumor, not starting and founding a rumor of it's own. Go back and read the article. VGC gained a lot of credibility for that article, even despite the detractors that were proven wrong.

Whoever said that I hated you?

(for the record, I don't)you are

But I do believe that you take MS news, good, and especially bad, WAYYY too seriously.  Like it's tied to you, and if MS fails, then you are a failure also.

OT:

I said, that the article was right when the circulars for next week started coming out, If I'm wrong, it's not that serious, it's the internet.  I wasn't a detractor of the article, I was a detractor of posting something that was clearly a rumour as fact.  Which at that point, it was rumour..., was it not?  I was proved wrong about the article being a rumour or not, but not about the price drop.  As I said multiple times in that story, clearly marking it as rumour would have made me as happy as possible, I was just worried of the possible backlash of it being false.

Anyhoo:

Again, a shot of some computer system is as much evidence as my best friends cousin's sister's boyfriend's, nephews' sisters' grandparents telling me that developing for MS costs them 70 percent of the revenue.

What I mean when I say you take MS news, especially bad, WAYYYY too seriously.

Just needed to quote that, for evidence :P

Do you realize I have a job in the video game industry by taking MS news "way too seriously"? It's what I do :)

Sure, but posts like this are taking it a little far, no matter how involved in the gaming industry you are.

I know you said it was a joke, but you'd have to excuse me if I don't believe you with yoru prior history around Sony dislike, and MS love.

Stickball's comments are right on. It is however true as the article points that XBLA isn't anymore what it was at launch and that MS has clamped down on the service - people like Treasure (for example) are having all their XBLA pitchings shoot down because MS has now decided it wants a "direction" for the service, whatever it is... They also announced recently they are removing from the service poorly-performing games, which is another shot in the dark. They are aware their original "unlimited shelf, no entry barrier" approach isn't forward but seem to be lost as what to make out of it.

Microsoft said that with the fall update that a "delisting" process might not be necessary now.  The main problem they said was the inability to organize the large amount of content that was continuing to grow in the XBLA library.  Granted it could still happen but it seems less likely than before.

Oh! Those are good news. But still they are rejecting things there's no reason for them to reject. I'm fine with one weekly hi-profile launch as they are doing now, but there's nothing wrong on letting devs upload the game and market them by themselves outside the "launch of the week" scheme.
