Forums - Microsoft - Why I don’t think 360 price cut will be enough.

With the 360 now in third place in weekly sales.

I don’t think the price cut will be enough.

Here are my reasons why.

Right now the ps3 is looking more future proof.

Just to take two things that matter to the ordinary Joe.

1 blu ray.

You are getting a player that will play the latest technology.

Plus a games console.

2 play TV.

I think this will be very important.

Digital TV is the future.

A salesman selling an elite versus a ps3.

Which is the easier sell.

They are just two things that come to mind.

You can see by my sig I own the 360 so I don’t regard this as flame bait.

I like the 360 but have to start doubting Microsoft strategy.

If anybody wants to discuss your views would be appreciated.

Since when was the 360 in third place? if you mean third in weekly sales out of the big three, then I think the drop in America is due to the upcoming price drop as you mentioned. IF rumours are anythiung to go by Microsoft have more up their sleeve than a price drop.

Thats not what Squilliam wants to hear!

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

If you want to make a point reask, try not using Sony buzzwords like "futureproof". That's where this starts looking more like a Sony advertisement. Try to stear clear from "The 10 Year Plan" also.

It doesn't matter whether the PS3 or 360 edge eachother out for second and third. They have poor financial strategies boiling down to build it big and roll the dice. If this price cut does keep Microsoft in second, they still have billions in the hole and a recent quarter in the red. Sony also has their own billions to make up. I'm not going to use business tactic buzzwords to describe what Nintendo is doing, but whatever they are doing is right, no price cut required.
