I personally never could get into the gears franchise or almost anything else from Epic because of their character designs. The over-masculinized, over-muscled testosterone-wars type thing just disgusts me.
Thats why I love COD4(glad for the normal heroes) and why I'll gladly take resistance over gears. The character design just hurt my eyes. However, I acknowledge that the vast majority seem to be in love with this kind of thing so big ups to Cliffy B!

See, their strange proportions are what makes me like the games style. Things like CoD4 are boring because they're real life while at least Gears tries to have some sort of style. It's definitely not the best style by far, but points for at least trying.

The weird-style characters are my biggest turn off from anything nintendo. Weirdly-proportioned characters are difficult on my eyes...lol. But you're right, judging by the sales, my type seems to be the niche!

I've seen some of those pics before and there were jaggies all over them, its nice they care about the fans to touch them up.
