Personally it's a waste of money but I can see why some people might want to purchase rosters.

go to the playstation.com ncaa football forum or ea sports ncaa football forum and you'll see plenty of threads on it.. if u know someone's screen name and they've uploaded the rosters to the ea servers just type in their name and download it..

I think these rosters should be free, why would I want to pay for something that should be in the original release with a little more research on the developers part.

Well I'm pretty sure that it's because of the NCAA rules and the whole "amateur status" that the players have that doesn't allow EA to put the player's names in the game. I mean in Madden they have the #'s and names of the players in there, but the rules don't allow them to have it for the college games.
