I am thinking of getting a second PS3 for my den (one in the main games room alrady).

Waste of money...

 Thank you. Fuck off.

Because he probably still wants a media player in the living room when his wife wants to watch DVDs, BDs, PSN downloads, etc. for times when he'd rather play PS3 games in the den.

I haven't tried this, but you might actually be able to transfer a hard drive backup of your current console (from an external drive) to your additional console, although it would probably still require authentification for all your PSN purchases.

It might not work if the PS3 ties each backup to individual console IDs (very likely).

Sounds like a great idea. Two PS3's = twice the fun as one PS3.

Well it will also mean we can play games competitively against each other. like Grand Tourismo 5 Prolog each with our own full tv to play on.. no split tv stuff. The ps3 is also a fantastic media center. It looks great. It can double as a computer..... it has blu ray... there are many many many things the ps3 can do, but sometime sharing it is not what you want to do.

You would not want to do such things Rock_on?

You know the fun with playing with your wife video games is more the fact that you play with her than against her.

i'm not 100% sure what you mean you seem to be missing a coma.. or something? not sure.

But if you're trying to say that playing games co-operatively with my wife is more fun than playing competitive games with her, you're wrong.  Both are fun, and there is a time and place for both.  There are many games we have played co-operatively (taking turns mostly, although some games do offer a good co-op mode).  Most recent ones being Odin Sphere, God of War I and II, Mario Galaxy.  But competitive games, like Muppets Party cruise, Mario Party (any except 8), mario kart, bloom blox, big brain academy wii edition, etc. etc. etc. are also oodles of fun.

If I have missed your point please restate it.
