I am thinking of getting a second PS3 for my den (one in the main games room alrady).

Waste of money...

I have two PS3's in my house. Its great. I stream all of my media (movies, music and pix) so having access to all that data in the bedroom and tv room is great. Plus having a Blu-Ray on both TVs is a great bonus.

You do get access to all of your purchases on the PSN and can redownload them to your new PS3 at no additional charge.

Plus the wife and I can now play in the same tourney online in Hot Shots Golf.

After 8 posts, youve already shown to be a PS3 hater. Well done.

Now make an intelligent comment

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

I don't own one, but you should be able to share most games (I know there are 1-2 that you can't play at the same time like warhawk)

As for transferring save files I don't have a clue, but if they work anything like a PC, you should be able to make a public space that you can copy to from another device on the same network.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Sounds like a great idea. Two PS3's = twice the fun as one PS3.

Well it will also mean we can play games competitively against each other.  like Grand Tourismo 5 Prolog  each with our own full tv to play on.. no split tv stuff.  The ps3 is also a fantastic media center.  It looks great.  It can double as a computer..... it has blu ray... there are many many many things the ps3 can do, but sometime sharing it is not what you want to do.

You would not want to do such things Rock_on?

You know the fun with playing with your wife video games is more the fact that you play with her than against her.

You know, just to play devils advocate here, why not get a Wii for the other room?  Obviously it would mean buying another set of games as well, but there'd be plenty more variety in the games.  I'm thinking playing games with your wife while sat in different rooms in the house is probably not all that fun, and the Wii games generally look good for groups of people to play.

I already have a wii, and I love it.  But it is not really that great for single player games, when i'm playing the wii it is usually with my wife or a group of friends.  (For single player virtual console is pretty awesome, and some wii ware titles are pretty good too). So having two wiis really won't do much.

I also have a gamecube, so all the GC games (which i have a lot of) can be played in the den too.
