These consoles claimed to be future proof?

I thought that was a buzz word that Sony made up to justify the cost of the system?

PC-No console is future proof by its inherent nature.

Saturn and N64 had those expansion add-ons to add a little more power to some late generation games. Saturn's was packaged with a Capcom fighter(can't remember which one) and N64's was packaged with Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. Genesis also had the 32X in addition to the Sega CD.

The PC as a development platform may be, but no single PC will ever be since components need to be upgraded periodically.
