One of the problems i see in Gears2, is that when you shoot somebody you don't really feel like you are doing any damage. They just stand there and continue coming at you like nothing is happening. Now in the Killzone 2 videos, i feel that each time i pull the trigger i can feel the impact that makes on each and every person i hit.

This is one part where KZ2 pulls far ahead of Gears2, Gears2 just doesn't have the budget or resources to do this. Maybe Gears3 will have this with the next gen Unreal engine, but not now.

Does anyone else get this feeling from the games?

Gears 2 actually has stopping power implemented, whereas the first title had very little or none.

Watch the latest videos.  Then go and play the originals of both titles and decide which one has the best "chance" of being awesome

This wouldn't work and you know it. Killzone 2 might aswel just have been an entirely new ip.

Except for the same story setting, same gameplay evolutionised rather than revolutionised, same largely unproven developer (quality-wise), same allotted "Halo-killer" status by fanboys and same aesthetic feel.

Oh, and there is that name in the title.........

Futhermore everyone who has tried it has said it was awesome.

I ignored all the parts of your post that simply amounted to "na uh you're so wrong, halo is da sux" and skipped straight to the only testable part.

One of the most recent previews........

Multiplayer ?.. are you choosing Multiplayer ? .. Seriously ? Ofcourse i wouldn't be on gears side on single player either.. but multiplayer ?.. really ?..

..okay

IGN:

"during a private Killzone 2 presentation I had the opportunity to get some hands-on time with the multiplayer of Guerilla Games' hotly-anticipated shooter. And although you can only play so many rounds in fifteen to twenty minutes, it was a great experience and certainly increases my excitement for the game's release early next year."

"Overall, Killzone 2 was a blast -- even in my sleep-deprived state. I can't wait to see more."

Ausgamers:

" The multiplayer is great and even though - as always - I spent a lot of the time wishing I had a mouse and a keyboard, it's easy to get into and looks like there'll be enough skill differentiation at the higher ends of the spectrum to result in a game that might have some legs over the long run."

dailygame:

"What's nice is that the game's five multiplayer modes can be setup to be dynamic, making the game type switch mid-round. For instance, a team of 16 might find itself playing a round of Body Count (basically deathmatch), only to have the computer "update" the players via their comm system that the mode had changed to Assassination, which has players trying to kill the person who had just won Body Count. After a while, the mission might switch again to Search & Retrieve (CTF, basically), then change once more to Search & Destroy."

"Killzone 2 has, so far, done all the right things to catapult it into PS3 system-seller status. Guerilla Games heard players' complaints after the first game, and they appear to have more than addresses them. Our next hands-on time with Killzone 2 can't come soon enough."

1up.com

"with the multiplayer gameplay already so good, and with all of the other multiplayer goodies Guerrilla's supplying -- from clan support to online leaderboards -- I'm convinced Killzone 2 is going to keep playing long after the single-player campaign's complete."

". The available weapons were nicely varied and all felt substantial, the map designs were cool (with a good mix of open and confined areas, staircases, and windows), and there was a fair amount of strategy, such as placing sentry guns in key locations. I had so much fun playing that it was hard to pull me away to let others check it out."

etc etc.

I thought you had left all this stealth trolling behind. Judging killzone 2 on killzone 1 is really narrow minded. Especially concidering the succesfull spinoff liberation between the two titles, and everything you have seen or heard from the game thus far.
