I have the same problem Bugrimmar.

My old 34 inch HDTV displays 480i/p and 1080i only.

All of the 720 games show up in 480p.

I have faith that LBP will be in 1080i, but only time will tell.

I will buy it regardless, however.

I can't answer your question, but perhaps, for the use of all games, tv, and movies, you should look at an upscaler. It would be much cheaper than getting a new TV

That looks like a good solution, however, I don't have another 220 bucks to spend.

480p widescreen doesn't look bad, and I can read all of the on screen text, which was my main bitch about playing on an SDTV, so while it would be nice to have 720p, it isn't quite a deal breaker for me.
