Wow this lsit is mostly fail and that's pretty hard to do with this subject. Tidus and Jiro don't look like females, I'm not sure if Nights even has a gender, and Birdo actually is female (she's named Catherine in Japan for a reason).

I never thought Tidus was a female. When we first looked at the Tales of Symphonia cover, my sister thought Zelos was a girl and I wasn't sure. However, the one we were convinced that he was a girl while playing the game is Genis.

How about Caina from Wild Arms 2? They actually changed his gender for the American version.

Honestly, I could never figure out why they always have to stick a Final Fantasy protaganist in lists like these. Are they effeminant? Maybe, but you can still tell that they are dudes.

Plenty of transvestites go by a female name.

In japan Birdo's always been a male transvestite to my knowldege.  She's listed as male in the Japanese Wikipedia... so unless the Japanese Wikipedia is being run by english and europeon nerd Otaku's it sounds pretty credible.

Besides check out Captain Rainbow. Sounds pretty distinctly male to me.

In brawl they list the gender as "indetriminate." Likely due to the looking like a lady but not really being one.
