About 1800$ or so. The State has a program that pays 100% tuition for me though. And my other scholarships pay for room and board and my meal plan. I have like 10000$ in scholarships and what not so I will have some money in the bank :D

you get more money out of scholarship then your school tuition? where do you live, am moving there

Well, I got a lot of private scholarships and grants, along with the school scholarship they gave me, and the 100% tuition from the state. So I get a pretty penny pretty soon here after my dorm costs, books, and meal plan is paid for.

No tuition fees in my country. The closest thing is an 86€ per year membership fee to the Student Union Whatchamacallit that gives us access to all the student benefits (50% discount in public transport, cheap healthcare etc). Of course the 400€ per month student grants kinda take care of that.

Finland =

^^ thats pretty cool, but we gots free health care anyways so... :D

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

How are people only paying 1-3k per semester to go to school!? My tuition bill was about 11k for the Fall semester (including everything). It's a good thing the school gave me 8k in financial aid (per semester) and I had a couple thousand in scholarships, because I don't know what I would have done. Yay for being Hispanic and automatically being deemed a minority!

$1100. Yeah, I'm kind of old to still be in college. I'm one of those people that has changed majors several times.

Well hey, my roommate is 28 (enrolled in 2001), and still hasn't even started his master's degree thesis. He's been here for so long, that the state has actually stopped paying him free money for studying (kinda rare)! I know at least 3 or 4 people who've been enrolled at the university for over a decade, and are "just about to wrap things up".

There are those who say the Finnish system encourages students to hang around and never graduate, but surely it's a coincidence! =P
