I just finished RE4 wii and was thinking about playing this. Will i be dissapointed? Is this actually creepy and unerving?

I always look for a woman who has a tattoo. I see a woman with a tattoo, and I’m thinking, okay, here’s a gal who’s capable of making a decision she’ll regret in the future.

Yes, yes u will. U will probably like the creepiness and like the fact that its ACTUALLY scary, but gameplay mechanics, u prolly will be disappointed as it is very different from RE4.

This game is excellent. I love survival horror and I love stealth and it puts them together. It's genuinely frightening in a lot of places, and the sight-jack mechanic works really well. It makes the stealth aspect original while adding to the terror, for example when you get spotted and you can see yourself as the shibito runs toward you, but on your half of the screen you can't see them in the dark.

I also like the sense of desperation, picking up all kinds of objects (there are 50 weapons in total) and madly hitting the shibito with them if you get seen, which is always really satisfying.

It's also packed full of secrets so there's loads of replay value, and it took me 19 hours to complete on the first run-through. The story is crazy, you have to get a lot of the secrets to start to understand it, but I liked that.

Frankly when you consider the price of the game its easily one of the top two or three games on the PS3. I enjoyed it so much I bought Forbidden Siren 2 for PS2 instead of getting Soul Calibur 4 as I had planned to do.

I think i am definately going to pick it up! Thanks for the info!

And to everyone else reading this thread, BUY THIS GAME!!! Here is the way I see it: If you are a survival horror fan and a hardcore gamer, you cannot miss out on this one. Siren falls more on the psychological side of horror with a strong emphasis on survival. The characters you portray are "normal" people trapped in a nightmare legend of the town of Hanuda. You're pretty much playing hide and seek with the Shibito (Japanese zombies) with very little weapons to defend yourself with. I have yet to play the PS3 version of Siren, but I played the original for the PS2 which was a cult classic.

As I type this, my import of Siren is on its way to me from www.play-asia.com. From what I've read, the complete download via PSN will take up 9GB of hard drive space while the Blu-ray version will install 5GB of data. Asian and European territories have a Blu-ray version because it seem that the first two original Sirens did fairly well in those territories. But in N.A., it never caught one. Maybe this is the reason why SONY didn't want to risk costs on the a Blu-ray version of Siren in N.A.

Siren's gameplay and appeal will not appeal to the masses becuase is it not a typical flashy "run and gun" game with superficial attractions. Siren is an in-depth cerebral experience with a rich storyline that leave room for interpretation and deciphering. Yes, I've yet to play the PS3 version. But the few I've spoken to who have played both PS2 and PS3 versions have told me the same. So that's what I'm banking on.

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

Its one of the few games I wish came out on the 360. Don't care for Uncharted, beat Metal Gear 4 and I don't care if it comes to 360 either...

Siren, online Mortal Kombat 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma are the best PS3 exclusives. :)

How is the story? I'm waiting for a BD release, might pick it up.
