I know you wanted reasons not to buy, but 2 awesome reasons to buy one are Jeanne d'Arc and FFVII: Crisis Core. Great games!

I know a lot of PSP owners that regret their purchase just due to the lack of games. I also think that the DS has a true successor coming out in the near future. May be best to wait.
