Wasn't she at E3 talking about how she broke her wrist snowboarding?

At this point, I don't know what to make of Palin. She's could be our Vice President which means she could be our potential President. This is not a matter I wish to take lightly. Biden appears to have the chops. Obama chose well. I must research Palin. What it comes down to is

Obama vs. McCain
Biden vs. Palin

History is going to be made this year, one way or another. After that novelty wears off, we have to live with the aftermath.

Reading more about her, I'm really starting to warm to this choice. She's fought to open the ANR while keeping it environmentally feasible, she's known for fighting excessive spending, and she has a reputation for doing what she feels is right over what the party might want her to do.

Plus, she sounds like a real firecracker who isn't afraid to bust some balls to get what she wants. I like that in a woman. I'm still not sold on that Pro-Life bullshit but I think McCain may have gotten my vote back. Time will tell.

Mark my words, if McCain is elected to office and one of the liberal judges on the Supreme Court dies in office/retires, McCain will do everything in his power to appoint someone who will overturn Roe v. Wade.  If he does, Roe v. Wade will be overturned within 1-5 years of that person's appointment.

At least the Democrats will have a majority in the Senate, which will make the battle tougher.

The thing is that I'm not 100% against the overturning of Roe v. Wade. What I am against is federal legislation outlawing abortion. If the power returns to the states, I'm okay with that.

No candidate is perfect. Abortion is not the most important thing in the world to me. I'm more concerned with energy independence, getting out of Iraq securely, and fixing education, amongst other things.

She is the closest thing (I think) we're going to get to Ron Paul for awhile...So be glad. Hopefully you like Ron Paul :)

At any rate, her policies are sound, and she's trying to do the economically right thing, while respecting everyone and everything when possible. I know some argue that McCain is trying to appeal to the female base, but he's not.

Go read palinforvp.com - There's nothing on that pro-palin website that has "oh, she'll get female votes!" Most of their focus is on cutting pork barrel spending, and ending government corruption. That's something we should all want.

I've been a registered Libertarian for a decade so yeah, you could say I like Ron Paul (though he's a little batty even for my tastes).

Sarah Palin is younger and more experienced than Barrack. She compliments Mccain well. The only problem she suffers from is obscurity.

But the electoral votes Barrack was vying for in Alaska are gone, shes has like 90% approval there.

She also has a history of intolerance of corruption, including being a whistleblower against fellow party members. So she's a female candidate that doesnt suffer from the inability to tell the truth.

And best of all... MILF. :-p

I'm not singing her, praises, just pointing out how well the Mccain campaign tought this one thru. They really have made the general election an interesting fray.

Running a State of 680, 000 people doesn't qualify one to be president especially if old McCain suffers from any more cancers. The complexities of that state don't even hold a candle to a regular US city. Add the drill, drill, drill mentality with absolutely no regard for wildlife and a husband who works for bp (surprised?) and you have a recipe for disaster. God help the USA

Yes, because it's much better to let others drill and ruin their environment while feeding money to corrupt systems that like to bomb us in their free time.

At least if we drill here, we can monitor (and regulate) the damage while providing American jobs and keep the money within our own country. We need to actively pursue alternative energy but let's be realistic... Even under the best system, we're going to need oil (and lots of it) for a long time. Let's make some proactive moves to ensure that we control what we need. It's sitting here underneath our feet, we just need to go get it.

PS. The complexities of Alaska don't even rival a city? What? That state has all sorts of situations (oil, the ANR, massive oil corporation lobbyists, a large fishing industry, etc.) that no mayor would ever dream of having to deal with.

I'm more interested on hearing the negative spin on this. Should be a fun few days for CNN.

I just watched Palin speak. She's a pretty fiery broad, isn't she?

I like that.

I would do things to her.

Hey, she was a beauty queen

Picking Sarah Palin was a good strategic choice for the McCain camp. Especially with all those disenfranchised hillary voters who wanted a woman in the office. I have to say that is a very smart move. I think this race will be alot closer now because of that choice.

I think you overestimate the threat of other countries to the US. I don't think any country in their rightful mind would launch an attack on the USA...only terrorist groups like Al Qaeda. Maybe you're worried about Russia. Take note that WE are the ones provoking them by building missile detection facilities next to their borders (Poland) and providing advanced weapons tech to their neighbors (Georgia)...who's provoking who?

The US needs to stop wasting money trying to act as world police. If we don't stop borrowing money from China, no other type of change whatsoever would save us from economic catastrophe. We need to stop trying to ensure that we are the only superpower and make sure we help our own citizens first. We can't stop the Chinese. We're only helping them.

I couldn't even get a loan for my senior year at school but thanks to a partial scholarship and my six-month internship, I can still pay my tuition. I hate to think of the mess I'd be in if I wasn't on this internship.

Good choice on McCain's part.  An inexperienced woman is just what was needed to make his ticket more appealing.  Hopefully Barrack Obama wins and gets America back on track.  In 8 short years America has went from 'Defender of Freedom' to 'Arrogant Warmonger' while Republican economics have all but destroyed the economy.  Although it is kinda funny to watch well-off Americans ride around on bikes with high-heels and party dresses because they cant afford $5 a gallon gas.

Congrats to Obama and Clinton regardless of how the presidential election turns out.  They have broken all barriers that were holding blacks and women back.  Now all Americans are starting to look more equal, it doesnt matter what your skin color or gender is, its what you do in life that matters.  Disagree?  Just look who is in the White House.
