Maybe they are fixing the disc scratching problems along with the melting box.

The disc scratching problems have already been sorted since they wre sue to 360 DVD drive which lacked a protective rubber band which is now included. With regards to the meling problems, ( I assume you are reffering to the solder) this has also been changed as they switched from copper based solders. I can roughly explain why the copper solders were bad if you would like?

If all of this is true, then only a price cut stands between me and Blue Dragon. Thanks for the info.

I can't guarentee anything with regards to the motherboard problem, since all I know comes form secondary sources (which i personally trust). I can say that they have sorted out the solder problems (effecting models shipped up to sep 2006) and disc drive problems (effecting about half the models shipped in nov/dec 2006). If you buy a 360 now it will almost cerainly not have either of these to problems and the extra cooling should sort out the motherboard problem. If you want to play it 100% safe wait for the 65nm chips as this will definatley sort it out. Although I would actually recomend you buy one for Eternal Sonata before Blue Dragon .

Is the loud dvd drive fixed yet?  How did the 360 have so many problems?  It's not like the first xbox was like this...

Also, I dunno about your Eternal Sonata pick...I've heard (1up Yours podcast) that Blue Dragon is pretty good looking and plays well in comparison.  But hey, to each his own.
