I hate how people say that "Sony abandoned b/c" when the PS3 is capable of playing, idk, 8k games on the PS1.

Could people possibly be more informed when they say that they want b/c on their system that they want PS2 b/c specifically? Cause if someone else says that Sony abandoned b/c completely, they're full of shit, and also a liar.

Considering what Mike and DM have posted, Sony is not bringing back BC...correction, Sony is not bringing back PS2-specific BC.

I'm sure of that.

But I just wanted to kill the "Sony abandoned b/c" argument to not being wholly true. 

They abandoned PS2 b/c which lots of people care/d about, obviously, but it's still compatible with the 8k games on the PS1.  So abandoing b/c is relative.

It was a mistake to do so, but it lead to cheaper consoles.

I thought PS3 owners didn't care about B/C? Every time I attempted to bring it up as a negative factor it was downplayed, now people are quite excited for it. It reminds me of the Dualshock debacle last year.
