Sounds pretty cool.
Got it on Eurogamer.
Heres the piece.
Duke Nukem 3D will sport a saved-film feature when the game launches on Xbox Live Arcade next month.
Or so say Microsoft representatives speaking at X08 in Canada, according to Joystiq.
Saved films do what you expect, and will be shareable with friends and maybe family if they play games or maybe just want to see how you are getting on in life.
3D Realms popped Duke Nukem 3D into Microsoft certification earlier this week. We still know fairly little about what to expect, but hope split-screen and Live multiplayer make an appearance, if not two appearances.
3D Realms boss George Broussard told us to expect a price of "about what you'd expect", which we expect means we'll have to remortgage the house. Or possibly pay 800 Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60).
According to a Microsoft representative at X08 in Toronto, Duke Nukem 3D will include two new features when it releases "sometime in September": a saved film and gameplay rewind feature. As explained by the rep, the rewind function allows players to rewind a portion of the game if they had a particularly enthralling firefight with LARD troops or to undo any major mistakes (e.g. including death).
The saved film feature works as you would imagine, players are able to take saved clips from multiplayer and share them online with friends. With this much new content added for an Arcade release Duke Nukem might become popular again.
