Forums - Gaming - Star wars the force unleased demo sucks cow!

What the hell is going on? I've been waiting for this game forever, and now that we actually have demos, all I hear is how much the controls suck. It seems like they've had forever to get this thing right, but apparently they can't. They've probably spent far too much time on getting these new engines working right, and not nearly enough time on getting the gameplay, fun, and controls right.

I hope the Wii version controls better. I'm gonna be really disappointed if this game goes from one of my most anticipated games, to not even making it onto my "Buy" list.

Looks like another victim of "too much technology, not enough game design" syndrome.

Nintendo Power gave the Wii version a 7.5, same as that Xbox magazine gave the game. Good enough that some people will like it, but not big enough to be a blockbuster.

yeah controls are holding the game back. what they should do is make the right stick for up down left and right motions while in force grab. this allows the left stick to be free then you can move around while holding something, except for something thats heavy like a ship or something.

the camera controls are alittle bad as well. but its nothing to bad. i also didnt like the fact that while slashing and stabbing things the light saber did nothing to objects or enemies. like when i slash at a door it should make a hole to see through or something instead of a small burn mark that disappears in 5 seconds. i think they should of given an option to either force push doors or use the saber to make a hole to go through.

they also should of given a target change button, say L2 or LT. this would of allowed easier ways to grab what you want instead of just moving around hoping it targets the right thing. of course the target change would only work if you had target lock on or something but eh

another small thing i didnt really like was the health bars on enemies. i'd not see it just because it takes away from the badass feel of being a sith. i mean in a star wars movie a light saber hit would of basically killed or cut off a limb from ya. and the game should of dumped the Teen rating and went M to do this! i mean it would of made this game so much better.

other than those flaws the game was awesome. music was great, visuals nice, voice acting was decent (could have been better but its easily over looked) and i like the new engines they have built/used. oh and when you use the force those effects are nice.

edit: when you use the lightning you should be able to hold the button to make it keep going, of course at the lose of more force and maybe weaker than the inital blast, this would of been cool.

Yeah it would have been nice to walk while in force grip, but at least you can move the object whereever you want with the right stick.

I agree about the lightning, you should be able to hold it down

Hope Wii version is better...

I will be getting the Wii Version. Maybe I will try the demo to see what the controls for the PS360 version is like though.

I never understood the hype this game received.

@ "hopefully Wii version is better" guys)

the controls aren't that much of a problem (apart from the camera and the quite random auto-lock-on system) in my opinion, but the boring and unimaginative level design is

if the Wii version is a straight port, then this main problem of the game won't be fixed

@Jo21 lol, Wii doesn't have a demo, and E3 didn't have a live playable demo either for the Wii version... I'm not sure about GC or the Latin American Nintendo event. But I doubt they would have been forgiving of the Wii's controls specially with the way gaming media is today... So mind sharing where or when you tried the controls.

@OP That's too bad, but if they can delay this game to fix controls on the HD version I hope they delay the Wii version to add 1:1 X_x.

When I get home I'll load it if it's on PSN.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

Xbox 360 official magaizie gave it a 7.5 not a great start. That magazine rates everything high too

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

The duel-mode might be the Wii version's saving grace. Then again, if Clone Wars dueling is better then it won't help much.
