none of them is AAA
only gears.

Fallout 3, Fable II, Banjo Kazooie, Star Wars FU, Far Cry 2, halo Wars, Left 4 Dead, Sonic Unleashed, Prince of Persia, Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia (imo) aren't AAA?

Really? then i suppose there are no AAA games coming out this year except for Gears of War 2, period, on any console...sigh.

Lol, yeah, Too Human isnt AAA. its up there to show the games are too close to each other.

I think it works like this

90%+(on GR and Metacritic)=AAA games

80-89%(on GR and Metacritic)=AA games

70-79%(on GR and Metacritic)=A games

69% and below(on GR and Metacritic)=?????

I didn't know there was a scale. Then yes, you are very much right, Deotox; alot of those won't end up AAA. Though I still believe the first 7 will end up with a 90+ score average. As for Unleashed, Last Remnant and vesperia...those won't be AAA(not officially, anyway.) I always considered that a game with the hype these have recieved determines it status.

Wow, this thread has gotten way off from its original purpose.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

They want to create big noise with the price cut and tons of releases, exclusives or not, in order to be very very appealing in holydays. In the other hand I believe MS want minimize the growin' expectation for Little Big Planet.

Tim and The Princes...

Besides the nitpicking of his choices of games I'll actually address his point...

It kind of sucks to have so many games coming out at once. It's good for holiday sales because chances are there will be several games to cater to any taste. I have pretty broad tastes and it's too much for me. There are still games from LAST holiday I haven't had the chance to play. I just finished playing Mass Effect and Assassin's creed the last month. The same thing with PS3 games. I just recently got to play Uncharted and finished Resistance about 2-3 months ago.

The good news is that when I finally do get time to play the games they will be a lot cheaper than $60 new. Before NG2 the last game I paid full price for was Lost Odyssey.

AAA status is determined by hype and gamerankings average

I think he should of just said "awesome games" rather than AAA, so there wouldn't be confusion.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Release schedules are always more dense leading up to the holidays. Publishers want people to buy their stuff when gift shopping. It's as simple as that.

I personally don't have a problem waiting a few months to catch up on the backlog because every year has its slow months as well.

Incoming releases on the 360 aren't really that different from PS3 in terms of quality and numbers.

One issue is that it's the best time of the year for game sales.
Second is that Microsoft can hardly tell third party not to release their titles in that period because they are releasing theirs...

Think of the next 3 months as the equivallent of the May-June period for movies.

Every week there is a hyped movie coming out..

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Hmm yes a lot of possible awesome games are going to release for the X360 but that is not really thx to MS imo. How many games are from MS??

Funny how easily a thread can be derailed over the selection of a few words.

To the updated topic though I say yes, I'm sure it could affect sales to current owners, but in the long run, think that as the number of quality titles increases, the library for that console becomes a selling point. To this end, it is somewhat of a double edged sword.

I for one just realized to purchase the 3 games I want that are released next week is going to cost me close to $200 (Tales, Infinite and TW '09...if you were interested).

AAA games are determined by my own opinions.
