So I guess the 80gb Core is going on sale a little bit earlier than I thought it was going to, but I read the specifications and it says that the 40gb is 13.3lbs and the 80gb is 15lbs. I get that the Dualshock 3 is heavier, and I don't think the drive size would make much of a difference (maybe I'm wrong), but I don't get where an extra pound comes from.

Are those specs official or are they added by any random customer. I was looking for proof that his is an updated newer version of the console, and therefore would cost Sony less, but it seems like they increased the weight. Any thoughts?

I guess we can now deduce the weight of 1gb.

40gb = 1.7lbs.
1gb = 0.0425lbs.

With that I can prove that 1 ton of gb is 47,058.82gb or 47TB.

You are forgetting that drives are lighter when they are empty, and they get heavier as they fill up. There must be more data pre-loaded on the 80GB drive.

Wow ,the 80 Gb is flying off the shelves for what I can see here in Switzerland ...I have seen at least three people buying machines in a very short delay.Guess many people were holding off the purchase since it was announced mid july...

Lets start guessing how many PS3s will be sold next week:)

Maybe they will wait for the 160GB now.
