Newegg is always a good site for sourcing OEM parts.

Seagate generally accepted as the most reliable by OEM manufacturers. WD typically 2nd.

thnx for sites and links, they are very helpful but where can i buy these from retailers?

Don't. You will end up paying 2x what you could buy them for online.

We'll miss you George.

PSN:Puzzleface

My friends call me Hadoken because I'm down-right fierce

Depends on where you live.

If you lived in Silicon Valley, you'd probably be shopping at Fry's.

I couldn't even venture to guess where the best brick and mortar retail outlets for computer components would be in typical areas though.

Best Buy probably. Circuit City if you were desperate.

Typically, yes. Maybe not 2x, but definitely more.

Best Buy does have a lot of good deals, but it depends on the individual stores, current inventory, special sales, etc.

IMO, it's just easier (and just about always cheaper) to order parts online.

thnx greedmedic88 for the tips and info

I got a 160gb Hitachi Travel star 7200 rpm 16 cache based off of dbot's (or was it dogrules) thread. Be warned though, the harddrive takes off 11 gbs off the bat and the PS3 takes off 8-10 for basic functions.

thanx bbsin and Domo-Kun for tips and help
