Forums - Microsoft - If the $199 360 for NA is true, do you expect sales to go up considerably?

What will we say if the sales remain deadpan (worst case scenario)?

^ "wtf!" lol

but... I think it well make a considerable impact. I think the reason why XBOX360 isn't closer to the Wii sales is because of the price. Same with PS3, most people in America today can't afford something for the home that costs $500. It would also be hard for those who are on the more responsible side (we are talking about normal demographics, not those who are like us andput videogames ahead of other things like, I don't know building a new deck on the house) would find it hard to justify the expendature. With PS3 dropping in price big time, HW sales boosted and now it has started competing week to week where it didn't before. \
Me for instance. This XBOX360 I just bought is the first time I spent over $250 for a system (and Wii was the only one over $200). Never have a bought a system without a game (incl. this one because I'm getting it with GTAIV included). I have a mortgage, three car loans (one wrecked car that's finally almost done), Insurance for those four things, three utility bills, two student loans, and a partridge in a pear tree, amoung other things. Theres no way in hell I'd spend $700 on a system, even though I love to game. So my point is, all the hardcore/devoted peoples already bought their system of choice, or systems. Price drops are for everyone else. Without price drops everyone else probably wouldn't buy. Wii is the only one that hasn't hit that place yet because of their unusually high demand in the first category.

No, it will do the same thing that the clearance price did (perhaps even less because its the arcade SKU) so a small weekly increase. If its all the SKUs then it will actually push some consoles, but I'd say its more likely to be just the Arcade, if its anything.

I doubt it will even outsell the PS3. Then again I don't believe this rumor because a few people have debunked that picture.

Key word "clearence", the discounted 20gigs were not going to last forever. The rumoured price drop is for all 3 skus with arcade getting an even bigger drop. Also there has been more evidence of the price cut being genuine.

No.

Im picking 110,000 per week average. (Based upon another thread)

I don't think that it will do much, seeing as though people still perceive that it will break on them. But that may not stop me from buying one, I already own a PS3 and a Wii. I don't want to buy a new computer or replace old parts in my already ancient pc desktop so I might plan on buying the arcade with Gears 2 and Fable 2. Both of which are two games that are not on my favorite console the PS3. I enjoyed Fable 1 which I own for my PC and I only played a little bit into Gears 1 since I don't own an Xbox 360.
