Forums - Sony - Sony Leipzig 2008 Press Conference sucked ass imo

Like others have said, pretty much everything from now till end of '09 has already been announced/shown. This is a show in Europe for Europe. Therefore Euro-centric games are going to be focused on (i.e. Singstar, Eyetoy, LBP). We're somewhat lucky that we got to see Heavy Rain.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Sony wants to conquer the casuals, that's what they made clear.

Europe has always been more casual than other territories, and they absolutely love SingStar.  This conference was propbably great for them, outside of the extremely hardcore.  And even they got Heavy Rain.

Though I admit Microsoft and Nitnendo's conferences were much better.

Exactly, and I think they did a damn good job at it. They turned their system into basically a Tivo w/ Rhapsody built in, announced a game that people will eat up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Singstar: Disney), and they're getting into the virtual pet business with a somewhat new take (?) on the genre. Now if they can get the price down in a year, mainstream Europeans will be all over the PS3.

I feel all this is already good enough, many games had confirmed release date. so we can now looking forward to it.

If that video is taking forever to load for anybody else, download Heavy Rain footage from here:

Thanks for posting it, though, Celine. :D

Heavy Rain IS a new game. 4 Screenshots do not count. Looks pretty amazing. Although I would like to hear more about gameplay/story background.

With nothing more than a title and a tech demo of motion capture technology using a scenario that is nothing like the final game. :P

It would be like saying Nintendo is working on a new Zelda.  Well yeah...

From what I read in the liveblog it seems it has the same shitty gameplay ( all references to QTE sequences ) of Indigo Propechy.
