I have read it, and I still do consider it a port. Or rather, I consider it how a port released a year after it initially comes out SHOULD be. Even with the new content, characters, animated screens, bosses, etc, it's still the same storyline with mostly the same cast. It is neither a spinoff nor a sequel, so the best way to describe it is a port.

If it was released as DLC on Xboxlive, I'd get it in a heartbeat, but as for the PS3 version, since I don't plan to ever get a PS3 unless the price is justifiable, I don't really care for the port.

The storyline is going to be very different because of Patty, Flynn being in the party, new scenarios and the game is going to tie-in with the movie that is coming out.

Uh, no. To me, ToV the original is on the xbox360. I still think the PS3 version is with just more content. I couldn't care less about Patty, but Flynn's a great bonus.

I'm definitely not buying until a sequel (if ever) comes out.

Again did you not read the post i put up? Cause if you did you would know this is not just a port.

Lol, mate, this is definately a Tales of Vesperia port. It has some new stuff, but at its core its still the same game. I have a PS3 and am one of the biggest TOV fanatics out there, and thats my reasoning for buying it again. To any other sane person though, I wouldn't expect a repurchase, much less a full console purchase for it :P

I WANT THAT SEQUEL INSTEAD >_<

Does this seem like just a port?

Let me put it in perspective; Eternal Sonata was on the 360. Then it got put on the PS3. But it didn't just get put on the PS3; it was PORTED to the PS3. It wasn't exactly the same content though, as it was crossed over with NEW playable characters, NEW events, NEW items, and NEW details to the storyline. Sound familiar?

It should; it was done by Namco Bandai too.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Uhh, dude, that's totally a port. I have no idea what you're getting at.

The full voice over parts I understand because of the benefits of bluray. I'm happy with the amount of voicing done on the 360 version, though. But yeah, Shadowblind, totally. Being a pretty big fan myself, I would totally do it if I had the cash. University isn't cheap, however... Neither is the PS3. Finally, though, FINALLY I have a "Pro" to add to the list of pros and cons to a PS3.

If I had the console, I would buy it too. No question about it.

Yeah, I finally have a sig.

@ Shadowblind and Linkthe2nd

One day you guys are going to have to face the fact that we may never see a Vesperia 2. This may be the closest we will ever get to one so be happy with it.

Hey, if I lived too engrained in reality I'd be a much more depressed person. Its the hope that keeps me going, and trust me, I've already faced up to that fact. Seeing as Destiny is the only Tales game so far that meritted a true sequel, Vesperia in all probability won't.

Now that doesn't mean nachos about whether or not this is a port. If it was a whole 'nother game, then I'd say its not a port. But its named the same, has the same story(with some changes to how the story is executed) same graphics, same gameplay...

That still doesn't make it more than a port... I'd be a bit disheartened at there not ever being a sequel, but I'm certainly not going to go into denial about it...

And plus, I'm sure if it's not Vesperia, Namcobandai will make another tales game.

They say they are adding new elements to the game so the gameplay may change alittle. Also the story is going to tie-in with the movie so its going to be very different. The overall plot may be the same though but its better then nothing.

Yes. It's still a port even with what you describe.

And I highly doubt the story will change too much. Just little additions here and there for the new characters and a slew of new skits. The main plot will remain the same.

You need to be more positive about this. Ok let just call it Tales of Vesperia 1.5
