When the X360 launched, I was able to snag all of my games for $54.99 or lower thanks to rebates from my Best Buy.

It's a promotion, not a price collapse, or anything due to reviews. Stuff like this happens.

A real price collapse is 2-3 weeks into it being sold, and we start seeing copies show up for $29.99 or $39.99 new in multiple retailers, ala DM&M:E.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I think it's just that Toys R Us runs heavy discount deals...

They have for the last year.

They are aiming HARD at improving their software buisness.

Understandable as videogames take up more and more entertainment time.

Amazon just dropped it to $57.99. So if you ordered from Amazon, you can put in for a price match. If the price has dropped any time during 30 days from the day your package ships, you can get the difference back. You have to tell them though.

Unfortunately mine hasn't shipped yet.

Circuit City does this a lot for new games. I remember seeing both CoD4 and Halo3 for $49.99 several times after launch. I don't think they were hurting for sales at the time. If it drops for good (ala Haze) in a couple weeks then we'll know it was bad
