Forums - Gaming - The future of gaming

What do we feel the future of gaming will be like by the year 2025, will M$ own eveything and Sony and Nintendo are just 3rd party delvelopers, will Nintendo still have fat kids waving their hands around playing Mario Party.  Will Sony still be living on the hopes of GT and MGS4 and FF.  Will GTA be banned from the world for having so life like grahpics and allowing people to drag small children and dogs from the back of your car.

What do you guys think will happen?

Nintendo ON will be real.

Console will kill PC and take their place.
Only 1 big multimedia machine, that can do everything, made in M$ of course ...

GTA and all violent games be rating Adult Only or will be banned for the graphics and the interaction, maybe with this situation the AO games will be a reality, and the kids and teens dont play games with blood anymore.

Don't we all wish.

I remember seeing that before the announcement of the Wii. It's definitely the best product advertisement I've ever seen, fake or not.

512,000,000 what?

But yeah, that looked very cool.

I hopefully think that all consoles will become media-centres, and get rid of the need for anything else than a TV and a games console in your living room, as the amount of things needed currently is pretty ridiculous, plus that seems the way the industry is headed anyway.

I agree with several other people here.

I think gaming consoles will kill the PC. I think they will succesfully become convergance boxes, and I think Microsoft will make the most popular one.

@ Nintendo ON

If it responds to your movements, it'll be pretty hard to get through the entire game without bumping into things. Too bad this is fake.

I agree Cursayer, a VR system is something that should be played sitting down. There's no reason they shouldn't do head tracking though, and you could easily combine that with a Wii Remote + Nunchuk. Head tracking would actually add a great deal of awesomeness to a system. One of the biggest issues in any first person game (FPS, racing sim, flight combat, whatever) is your inability to look around quickly. That would easily be solved with head tracking -- IF it's fast enough not to make you motion sick.
