monopolies in certain industries are not allowed in some countries. (unless crown-controlled)

i seriously doubt this will ever happen. Some company will definitely step in if there was only one other competitor.

I could see there being a unified set of standards, which all manufacturers must stick to. That'll be a solution to competition and unification.

It didn't really happen. He's probably talking about that Spiderman game for SNES. One of the cronies you fight in a level bares a small resemblance to a red Spartan.

There was that video of Halo on the DS so maybe he meant that and not the SNES.
