Forums - Sony - PSN gearing up to battle XBL at E3?

It seems that Sony might be fighting MS' fire with fire by releasing its own demos on the PSN during E3 just as MS is promising to do the same over the same time frame.

Ninja Theory teased what's coming:

"I can confirm that we are, of course, going to be releasing a demo for Heavenly Sword...and soon! This will be downloadable via the Playstation Network...so keep an eye out for this in the very near future...and i mean very near future!"

The blog that is from is quite interesting. It actually says that there is going to be a Heavenly sword anime series adn the firts two episodes are on the BD.

Well, of course they will be releasing demos. Demos help sales, I would think.

But in a larger sense they Sony seems to be committing themselves to beating XBL with online content. Home. Network only games. Downloads. So I would venture a guess that the PSN would be 90% to the level of XBL by March 2008. What do y'all think about that prediction?

before HOME is released Sony needs to improve their applications of their PSN system and make it very similar to Live because their are people not interested in HOME( like me)

Lair and heavenly demo this month.... there is a god!

Well, all that is needed for Home in terms of infrastructure is the networks, network managers, routers, etc.  Its just a money thing that is very easy to build up as online games have been around for quite a while now.

Secondly, I agree that Sony needs to make it better.  There is always room for improvement, and these businesses have to by the motto that "second place is the 1st loser".

I think that firmaware 2.0 has in game access to the xmb and cross game chat/messging. For me those are the two key features that seperate XBL and PSN at the moment. After that all they really need to do is up the content in PSN store and they will be close to XBL.

Seeing as SCEA has a long history of MMOs and massive infrastructure, I don't think this is going to be the problem.  Sony has the harware and the bandwidth.  They just need to fit it all together.

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.
