Is star ocean: second story that good? I was thinking of getting it but am still doubtful

New HD game confirmed.

My bet. 360. The developer really wants to break into the US market.

It could be any of them though... even PSP.

It would be quite the interesting as a wii game though considering it's unique battles.

it's an awesome game, it's good enough that I'll be buying Star Ocean: Second Evolution for my PSP on January 6th, 2009. The 80+ endings are nifty, I've had 3 different endings each time. Two of the endings were kinda similar with some differences and one of them was a fair bit different. Plus with two different starting characters for different perspectives on the same events and different characters to recruit (example, recruit either Ashton or Opera) there is definite replay value.

The only poor part of the game is the terrible voice-overs during the battle sequences, but they are few and far between and more funny then annoying.

However, the PSP remake has new voice acting with full voice-over dialogue, new characters, new artwork and animated cutscenes.

I didn't play much of SO2 but I know that it is considered to be the best in the SO series as well as being one of the best RPGs on the original Playstation.

S-E have already broken into the US market 11 years ago when FFVII came out.  They just want more money from the West.

trestres is right I think sqaure enix didnt announce anything for the wii. Soriku you always want every game for the wii. HD owners could call you pessimist also.

I ould like a squar enix game for the wii, but I know that in this gen they focus on the HD and handheld.

@Soriku: Well if this is coming to the Wii, then I would have lost all my hope. I really hope not, since it isn't a Nintendo console series. They better off put a new franchise or a well known franchise.

I still doubt it though, since the games were always PS centric and probably the game will see a PSP/PS2 multiplatform release. Maybe PS3 that's more probable.
But you can't rule out 360 as it's getting a lot of exclusive content from SE lately, and mainly from Tri-Ace.

Wii is the less suitable platform if you ask me.

1) it wouldnt be a waste, because unproven franchises like infinite undiscvery are 360 exclusive. square enix needs to give PS3 more exclusive content and this could be good since the franchise started on playstation consoles.

2) microsoft will do whatever they can to win japan!! and you know it. The more RPG the better for them and better if they are from square enix.

3) they already have made a lot of HD games. if they stop making them, they lose all the investment they made on the engines. The more games they make for the HD the more profit they can get! and who said square enix doesnt have enough people to be working in a lot of projects in the same time... they can be developing several HD games at the same time and you know its possibe.

soriku im sorry but you always say wii is best for every franchise. I still think kh3 will be ps3 exclusive

soriku, if the series hasnt done well on ps1 or ps2, why would they make it for the wii?

PSP looks more probable or HD multiplatform release could be good too
