err... they have UT3 making money for them... UT3 is selling pretty well on Steam.

Really? How many downloads have Unreal Tournament 3 had over Steam?

no idea, but it and the complete UT pack was in the top 10 downloads for a long time.

If you have no point of reference, then how do you know it's been selling well?

We're talking about a company that is in the midst of cutting jobs and you are trying to give the impression that they are doing fine based on a game they published that bombed on consoles and is supposedly making great sales on the PC with no figures to show for it?

They reported over 1 million copies sold months ago..... it bombed?

VGChartz says 490,000 on PS3 and 200,000 on 360=690,000 copies of Midway's most anticipated 2007 release. If that's incorrect then I apologize, but something's telling me your figure is including PC sales. I did specifically say, "...bombed on consoles...".

My point to you was, you have no idea what a top 10 on Steam means, because Valve doesn't release sales data. If I told you a game was on the PSP Top 10 for months, you would probably shrug your shoulders. Why? It's because we have the reference point that software sales suck on PSP. We have no reference point for Steam sales, thus we don't know whether this could mean 300,000 or 3,000,000 or anywhere in between.

Midway needs to stick with the DS, Xbox Live, PSN and WiiWare for now and claw their way back up to console retail. How about a San Francisco Rush 2049 HD with online multiplayer?

That would not be smart. Rush 2049 was an awesome game but it's not popular enough. Making it HD would cost a lot of money and be a big risk. They should make a Rush Wii using the Wii wheel.

Sorry, that wasn't really meant to be a solution, just wishful thinking on my part. I love Rush.

The first sentence is a great idea.  If Midway mixes a little of their classic library with some new stuff on XBLA, PSN, WiiWare, and DS they could see quite turn around.

The second sentence is an aweful, aweful idea.  Sorry, I do not like that game.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Midway needs to make some Wii games and continue supporting the DS. Their HD attempts have sold less than stellar and its burning a hole in their pocket. They are not a "serious" dev in the eyes of most gamers and their games are just like a Straight-To-DVD movie.

Blitz is a joke, Mortal Kombat is...just old and no longer anticipated. Dodece was right in saying that they need to try something fresh because what they are doing right now is an afterthought, gaming footnotes. They could've had the perfect opportunity to release something this summer, seeing how it is empty, but anytime this holiday is competitive suicide.

You have to be harsh on them. This is a company. Your goal is to make some good games that make you great money. I'm not saying the Wii is a cash-cow goldmine, but it was a big oversight for them to not make much for it. Didn't the TNA Impact game get pushed back a month for the Wii? No more shooters, fighters, or nothing like that. Make a platformer or somethin, I don't know. I'm not getting paid to know this.

i agree with the post above me do online versions of the older games like gauntlet, mortal kombat 2 or trilogy (just update teh graphics a little and make it online) and other games like that and put online access in them and boom you have money makers there. especially a rebuilt mortal kombat 2/trilogy type i know alot of people that were fans back int eh 90's and just didnt like well more or less dispised the direction mortal kombat went with deadly alliance. now lets say they make a wiiware version of mortal kombat trilogy but using the graphics of mk2 and tweeked the controls a bit by adding the run like mk3 but leave out the autokombos then add the new characters out of the last three games and sell it for like 1500 wiipoints and make it online it will be a huge huge huge success. i still play my mk2 and trilogy every so often but gets bored cause no one to play against.

You don't know? Mortal Kombat 2 is on PSN with online play and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is on Xbox Live, also with online play. You dream has come true.
