If Sony made this happen they could make up for lost sales x3 and avoid a Sega turnaround Saturn to Dreamcast.  What do you think?  It has the expandabilty.

Wow. From ten years to fifteen years. I don't think even Sony is that ambitious.

It does strike me as odd as a "halo gamer" would post about PS3. Why not go play Halo?

I think by 15 years the PS3 would be considered old by then with the new Wii 2 and xbox720. Better just release PS4 instead when 10 years is up.

No it isn't.

PS3 just seems powerful right now, but in a few years, new consoles will come out that will be OMG powerful, and Sony will have to release a new console to keep up in the graphics race.

It's a never ending cycle.

Because if you look at my profile, you will see that I am a sophomore in Game Design BFA program and am concerned about longevity and technological points of various console architectures.  Games are a business and you have to be ahead of the curve.  Besides, dev costs make my prediction sound about right.  I have numerous consoles from numerous companies too.

15 years before the PS3 was launched was 1991, when the best graphics available where on the SNES. Doom hadn't even started the FPS genre yet! Imagine how crazy different the video game scene is going to look in 2021. Of course, this might just be a joke post trolling the entire 'Ten year life cycle!!!11!11one' meme.

15 years ago we was playing snes and genesis, yeah ps3 can last 15 years

John McCain lasted 70+ years........I'm sure that futureproof PS3 could last, at minimum, the same amount of time.
