http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_(series)#Games Its the Vcast game. V CASTA Kingdom Hearts game was developed exclusively for V CAST, Verizon Wireless's broadband service, and was released on October 1, 2004 in Japan and on February 4, 2005 in the United States.[36] It was one of the launch games for the V CAST services.[37] The game, developed by Superscape and published by Disney Mobile with no involvement from Square Enix, features the original Kingdom Hearts's gameplay, modified for the input method of mobile phones.[38] The first section begins with the protagonist of the original Kingdom Hearts, Sora, shipwrecked on a seemingly uninhabited island, his friends Goofy and Donald missing. Sora must find a way to escape the island, as well as reuniting with Donald and Goofy. Reception of the first playable mission pack was mixed. The game was criticized for its awkward controls and limited availability. The visual appeal was praised; GameSpot stated Sora "is very detailed and well animated" and complimented the 3D environments.[39]

Then why wasn't there a kingdom hearts gamecube game?If disney likes nintendo so much why not a gamecube game?Maybe because at that time square wasn't in good terms with nintendo?Plus square should have something to do with kingdom hearts since it is a collaboration if they weren't then why doesn't disney gives EA or any other company the rights to develop and publish kingdom hearts games why only square enix?
I guess I can't argue with that , Disney does apear to exclusivley own the IP.

But SE invented the characters (Sora, Squal, Cloud etc) isn't it normal that they have the right to sell it? And I don't know Kingdom hearts figurines in Disney World? The game maybe for some people kind of childish but I don't see many 8 years old playing that game and if you are +10 the most kids don't want to go to Disneyland anymore;..I guess. |
If they did they would of had the rights to it. Which they don't. Sora belongs to Disney and SE needs the go ahead to use him or any other character.
It's not unusual when you hire a company like Disney hired SE.
For an example Nintendo owns the Eternal Darkness franchise despite it all being created by Silicon Knights.
Nintendo could go ahead and make an Eternal Darkness 2 with all the chracters from 1 and Silicon Knights couldn't do a think about it.
Furthermore they can't make a ED2 without Nintendo's consent.

Don't you think they're both go for whichever platform they thought would make them the most money. Rather then pretend they both have a side and a stake in the console fanboy war? Whether it goes to Wii, PS3(likely with a 360 port) or even like... DS will depend on whatever they think will make them the most money... and who knows what they think will do that? |
I agree but this kingdom hearts threads are always fun XD

Just because they COULD do something doesn't mean they WILL do it. If you look at most Disney games you see today, most of them are on the DS and WII. Now look at who made the second most profits last quarter, only bested by Nintendo. Now we all know they couldn't have profitted that much on the GC. Also if square is making the games, and they are selling well, why have EA develop it? Actually that wouldn't make sense for a western company to develop a Jrpg in the first place.
Wether Disney own KH exclusivley or not i still dought that
A.They'll make any decisions regarding the game exlcusivley
B.They'll want to develop a future KH title without Square Enix
All the Nintendo fanboyishness aside the game will go whever they feel makes the most business sence , no where ever your anecdotal , poorly informed opinion hopes it will go.
You can argue all day about what platform you hope it'll apear on , in reality your debate has no effect on rea life. I'm personaly unsure at this point.

EA was just an example I could have put any other company :p Also it has the same chances to go to the 360 what if M$ decides to give disney some cash and it ends up as a 360 exclusive. You see there are odds of kh3 to go to any platform not just because is a disney game then it means it is absolutely going to the wii(likes soriku makes it look like :p).
In addition you say that if square is making the games then why should other company develop it? In the same way why should kh leave the sony brand if the other games sold well on previous sony consoles? Also it could be multiplatform 360+ps3 will probably sell more than if it was a wii exclusive. It could sell well in America due to the 360.

Yeah we all need mama's boy in there.
Seriously: You probably are one of a few of the Niche fans that would really care. aLot of KH's fanbase is Mainstream, and most probably never even played A Final Fantasy game to actually care.
