Sorry about that... I didn't make myself clear.  Your post wasn't flamebaiting at all.  I've just grown used to the idea that anything positive said about the 360 will get a strong reaction.

I might've voted for Portal, but Halo is a good choice. Yes. The average person might not see much of this. But this award is supposed to be for showing what is possible. The feature set and stat integration with Bungie.net is way beyond most games.

People slag on Halo all the time, and there certainly are areas that can be improved - but there is a reason why the Halo games sell like they do and are played in huge numbers for so many years after release while other quality games go dead after six months.

Hype might sell games, but it doesn't keep people playing them. Only quality and features do that. Bungie says they are still averageing over 2 million unique gamertags a week. Some are doubles with people with alt accounts, but still - a year later 1 in 8 purchasers play the game online every week. That's amazing.

 Ya i have to admit Halo 3 is not game of the year. It is a fun game, but not game of the year material. Also Wii fit is not better than GTA IV

this is a good game, but its complete nonsense. call of duty 4 has a wayyyy better online, better system. and its got prestiges, perks, exp levelups and challenges. perks alone are better than halo 3. in halo 3 you cant even leave if you dont like the map. i dont wanna play shotty snipers on standoff, i wanna play team slayer on guardian. but you cant! on call of duty 4, if i dont like the map, and people dont vote to skip, i can just leave!

Halo 3 is about balance.  Introducing perks for people who play longer creates slight imbalances to the game.  I have never agreed with unlockable, game altering content.  I also do not agree with getting the ability to call in air strikes and uavs the better you do in COD4.  It rewards the better players with easy kills.  This should not be.  The leveling system in COD4 is good but I do not agree with the addition of unlockable gear.  It should be a completely level playing field for all players involved.  Also, you can leave if you want to, you will just lose experience points.  Bungie wanted players to have to be able to play a wide range of game types and maps instead of focusing all of your time on certain things so that you can dominate.  And just for your reference, Halo 3 took back the XBox Live crown as of a few weeks ago.  Where did you get your 3X stats?  Halo 3 has around 700,000 unique players daily, that would mean COD4 would have 2,100,000 unique players daily.  Impressive.

 Just to point out you can hit the X button to veto just like you can vote to skip in COD 4. Yes you can't leave until the game starts and you have to leave at the expense of XP points. Since the only thing that you get from more XP is a symbol and not unlockable content XP is irrelevant. Halo 3 overtook COD 4 3 weeks ago and by a good margin I might add.

The COD4 vs Halo 3 argument has been riden like a 2 dollar whore. It can keep going around and around but you need to get at least some of your facts correct b/f you go on a rant.
