Zero dying in Mega Man X

They ruined it in the next few game by bringing him back, killing him again, and bringing him back again.

The most epic (and sad) scene was Shadow's death in Sonic Adventure 2. Damn it was perfect!

Now why did SEGA have to ruin it and make him come back to life?

Apparently, in Sonic Battle, Rouge just found him lying somewhere in the city slums. Uh huh, yeah... >_>

When the Hollywood-ization of the game industry is complete. I can't think of any other; my games are epic and not sad.

The original is still the best of the series for many reasons including that.

Of course, I'd still like to know where Zero got the beam saber.  O.o

God man, so many great scenes throughout the ages :3 Fantastic post from Twesterm, I thought the back story with Rachael was a little more saddening though. Then again that theme was probably a major contributor :P

The Ending in Metal gear solid 3, where after all is said and done, and they list the true story behind the Boss, and that she chose to destroy her honor and everything that she had fought to become, for the sake of her country, knowing full well that the world would brandish her a traitor, even knowing that her star pupil would have to kill her. It just really sucked because you spent so much of the story not knowing her intentions, wanting to side with her, wanting to side with snake, and then having to kill her regardless... Only to find out she was the ultimate hero. /cry Oh and man, when it starts to play the mellowed out version of the Metal Gear Solid them from #2, it hits that snare drum roll and I'm fighting the tears >< Such a perfect ending :(

The ending to Heavenly Sword :( Ninja theory did a great job of opening the game with a fragment of the story that you thought COULD have ended horribly, only playing through the game hoping it would be slightly different. Then at the end, after such a beautiful tale of her, shen, and kai, the sword takes over her life, and you get to become the freakishly amazing Goddess :) I thought all was damn well, the sword didn't take your life! It just made you friggin awesome right! Yeah... unfortunately at a cost :( Nariko end's up dying in the end, and man it sucks >< She was such an awesome character :( A passionate lead, a "strong" woman without being a super bitch, super hot :D, and just totally awesome. Realizing she wouldn't be in a sequel was a pretty strong blow >< <3 Nariko ;-;

The ending to Final Fantasy X. Man that one's still a tear jerker... You could play the whole game not liking tidus OR yuna, but at the end, you really do get to see some chemistry between them, and that scene still rips me apart :( Tidus ends up disappearing after you destroy the big badie, but it had... to be... a slow... godamn fade... slow enough for Tidus to attempt to hug Yuna, not be able too, then come up behind her and give the saddest pretend hug I've ever seen in my life. The music of course is hitting you like a freight train, and her little CGI tears brought about some of your own ;-; God damn that ending >< It didn't help with her standing on the dock, happy that she learned how to whistle after the fact :( Tidus should have been there for it damnit ><
