Rather simple review of the first six monthws of the year. What games and consoles have you bought and which have you been most impressed with.

Consoles: Wii, xbox 360, PS3.

So far i have been most impressed with the Wii. I think that the wiimote offers something different and that is improtant to me as I don't like doing the same thing over and over again.

Wii Games: Wii Sports, Red Steel, Twighlight Princess, Super Monkey Ball, Warioware, Excite truck, SSX Blur, Mario Soccer.

Twighlight Princess was the most impressive but wii sports has taken up most of my time. I will continue until I get a 10 under on the golf. Also pleasently surprised by Excite truck.

360 games: Gears of War, EDF 2017, Fight Night 3, Senko No Ronde, Rockstar Table Tennis, Project Sylpheed, RS Vegas, Geometry Wars HD, Outpost kaloski X, Band of Bugs, Worms.

Between RS Vegas and Senko No ronde (although i am getting fed up of getting my ass kicked on XBL)

PS3 games: Motorstorm, Gran turismo HD, Super rub a dub, Tekken DR, Gripshift, Yes I use mostly as a BD player

Motorstrom is awesome but the BD functionality rules supreme at the moment. 

First half of the year in review.

Consoles: Wii (GC), PS3 (PS2) and 360 (Xbox)

Wii games I bought this year-

Warioware Smooth Moves: C+

Bought it because I had time with it when I rented it but I quickly realized I won't be playing it much and returned it.

Super Paper Mario: A-

2nd Best game on the Wii so far I think. Enjoyed it at the time and found it very innovative. Generally a fun game with good humor but weak in some areas that got bogged down.

Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai Tenkaichi 2: B

I like fighting games, played it and liked the controls and the experience of the game. Had been a while since I bought a Dragon Ball Z game so I was overdue.

Wii game of the year: Super Paper Mario

PS3 games I bought this year-

Motorstorm: B+

Fun, chaotic game that looks great. Not too realistic so I wasn't put off by it and enjoyed playing this arcade-y dirt racer. I love the variety of vehicles, really makes the game a lot better.

Virtua Fighter 5: A

Huge fighting fan, had to buy the first next gen Virtua Fighter. Looks great, plays even better. Still think Virtua Fighter needs some more eccentricity but I do enoy playing this game thoroughly.

The Darkness: A+

Exceeded my expectations. Rarely do have I enjoyed the single player of a shooter like this, loads of fun and great story. Best shooter since Gears of War last year.

Tekken Dark Resurrection: B+

Tekken 5 with new characters and looks better for a good price. Was definitely worth it.

Flow: C

Well made but not as fun after playing through once. I think it's overpriced.

Super Stardust HD: B+

Great shooter, and beautiful to boot. Best downloadable game on the PS3 so far.

PS3 game of the Year: The Darkness

360 games I bought this year-

Lost Planet: B

Good game. Fun and easy to play for the most part. Slows down at times, but overall great experience. Getting back into this game recently, giving it another go.

Crackdown: A+

Sleeper hit of the year: the game I didn't see coming. Such a great game either to play through or just play around with. Huge world, lots of freedom and the funnest building climbing in any game ever!

360 game of the year: Crackdown

PS2 games I bought this year-

God of War 2: A+

Better than the first one, great fun and lots of action. Looks great on the PS2 and left me wanting more.

Rogue Galaxy: B

Solid RPG, looks great and definitely fun to play. Weak in the story and character department.

Xbox games I bought this year-

Fable: A-

Finally got to play this Xbox game. Definitely a great game, is both fun to play and deep. Good mix of action and RPG.

Panzer Dragoon Orta: B

Solid game, good challenge. Really enjoyed it but it did get tedious at times. One of those games that starts off better than it ends.

The console I've played the most has been the PS3 (because of the PS2 games mostly) then the 360 and the least the Wii.

Game of the first half of the year: God of War 2.
