I never understood why people would do that but to each their own.

He basically said why. Madden Wii looks better in every way... except for online season mode with flex time leagues.

Exactly. I like what EA is doing with the Wii version and the more accessible modes they're adding on that won't be on the HD versions. However, I will not pass up Madden 09 with online leagues, because that is a godly feature. So I will get both.

Wonder why they don't have online leagues for all systems though. Does the PS3 version have online leagues?
If not 09 being a "PS3 event" is going to seem like pretty shallow marketing and all hype from EA.
360 gets online leagues, Wii gets extras, PS3 gets lip service?

As far as I know PS3 has online leagues too. I know the Wii doesn't, which is a shame, but to be honest I don't see there being a large enough demographic in Wii owners to justify online leagues, so I see why they may have left them out. EA is putting up the dough for these servers.

Still doesn't make sense to get the same game twice, but to each their own.

Hm is it really that different? Maybe i know less about servers then I thought... but I thought it'd be fairly easy to convert Wii servers to 360 if there were less then they expected.

Oh maybe they could. I'm not sure myself, just speculating. They could have just an out of time. While the PS3 and 360 Tiburon team was busy working on online leagues, the Wii Tiburon team was making all of these extra modes. With only like 10 months to develop in it could just be a time constraint.
So you want me to believe that a game they're calling a "PS3 Event" is worth caring about on the Wii thanks to its casual elements? *rolls eyes*. Forgive me for not being won over by a publisher 95million dollars in the hole as of the first quarter. I was hoping discussion here would change my mind and make me like the idea of the all play version, but so far all I've seen is more solid reasons to worry.
Why am I posting this? Well, Onyxmeth seems to miss me so much in this thread (as he keeps talking about it ad nauseum in other topics) I thought I'd at least make a post to quell his yearning for my presence.
