Forums - Gaming - Nintendo Thumb?

The worst thing was Nintendo Palm. Back in the N64 days, the Mario Party games had these games where you spin the analog stick as fast as you can. The best way was to put your palm on the joystick and spin it around. I personally never got a bad blister, but it would hurt your palm. I knew 2 people who got bad blisters from it though, and started playing with gloves

My hand does get cramped up with the DS though, even if I'm playing slow games like Advance Wars.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

i only get it from my DS and Gameboy...and it sucks

I've never had it myself. But a friend of mine got it after playing 9 hours straight of Hockey on the PS2 together. His thumb was in pain for 4 or 5 days after.

I've had it when I was a kid. Ah the good old days with the ps1 and X-men VS Street Fighter.

I think I got it because of the amount of frictition I was making while using the D-Pad coupled with the sweat my hands were producing while playing the game (I was about 8 and it was a hectic game at times). My thumb swelled up with blisters, so what did I do? I wrapped my thumb in cling-wrap (thing you use to cover food) and kept playing :D
