FFXIII doesn`t look impressive on this scan,
while Versus looks Awesome. =)

Still, can`t wait for FFXIII, i think in motion it will also look amazing, just like Naruto does. =)

they look like squall and aeris from ps3 tech demo.
so its very likely.

The bottom ff13 one is definitely real time, its easy to tell,in fact it's not that great, the close ups not, notice that lightning's face looks much more simplistic in the bottom shot than the top shot, but the big give away is the hair, in the close-ups it's very detailed, in the real time one its clearly made out of strips and quite simplistic.

 

All of the FFXIII shots in that scan are "supposedly" in-game engine. There is absolutely no difference in the pictures you're trying to compare. Well, apart from the size of the images and lighting scenarios.
