Sounds like Rrod.

Wait what?

No. 360's don't RROD right out of the box so you can just return it for a refund if you decide not to put up with it. No 360's play your games make you spend cash for live and builds up your library... then it breaks on you... numerous times...

It was a joke.  Surely you recognised the irony coming from one of the site's pre-eminent Xbox 360 fans..................?

Not working right out of the box is pretty rare and isolated.

actually you are the one that looks foolish now ,,,three blinking red means the system is turning off(which is in the OP),,,nothing to do with yellow light,,,,as for yellow light every piece of electronic has failure rates ,,,PS3 failure rate is already low but yellow light incident is even in lower precentage of failures in PS3s.

You know Spartan, it strikes me Sony doesn't talk about hardware reliability as often as they used to.  I'm starting to think that with more anecdotal reports of failures plus the massive dramas that seem to accompany every firmware update, the PS3's failure rate may not be quite as low as it once was..............

I believe it is,,,,in my local future shop from every 10 PS3 sold 1-2 will return on average for repair,,,but from every 10 X360 sold 6 will return  on average for warranty works.
