Just go rent the game from blockbuster and switch your game with the one you rented, tadaa problem solved. btw does the game still work?

well...if that happened to me, i would try to return it where i purchased it and make it seem that the scratch was on the disk when i opened it.

if that doesnt work, do what Mendicate Bias suggested.

There is quite a few places in my area that have machines that fixes scratches. A used cd, dvd, and game place fixes them for .75 a disc. I know your local gamepro will fix them although I think they have to send it somewhere and it costs like 5.00.

 It's impossible to fix if it has the ring from the 360.

The three consoles this generation isnt affected by vertical or horizontal placement. Your DVD drive went bad. You need to get your 360 replaced, simple as that.

Just go back to the store and get a refund or a replacement. Then msg Microsoft about the problem.

My brother ruined his GTAIV disc the first time he put it in. He uses a cable to connect to the internet, and when he was plugging it in, he accidentally jolted the 360 while the game disc was spinning in the drive. He cut a nice ring all the way around the disc.

When he took it back to Target he told the girl at the counter that the disc came that way and she gave him a replacement. I think it kind of depends on how stupid of a person you get at the store.

Happened to my MassEffect dvd (360 was horizontal), the sound reminded me of a fax machine. Use a DVD lens cleaner, it should prevent your 360 from scrathing disks again.
