Forums - Gaming - This is my theory of why JRPGs are going to 360 FOR NOW

I agree Nomura working on Versus does boost the game face, but what about Sakaguchi and Mistwalker? Without Sakaguchi FF would be nowhere near where it is now, why aren't PS3 owners picking up a 360 to play JRPGs? The big reason that I picked up my 360 a couple months ago was because of Mistwalker. Do you think people have forgotten Sakaguchi? Or perhaps because Nomura's KH series was so successful and tapped into a market that doesn't recognize or even know Sakaguchi. I enjoy the KH series but I enjoy Sakaguchi's works a lot more, they feel like what a real JRPG is.

@the TC you need to go to math class or something you would compare 3x more of PS3s in Japan compared to 360 even though the difference is a little over 2 million while 360 has a much bigger lead in America than that puny number...I hope a company never hires you to make charts for them or I think they'll probably fail...

Final Fantasy is still good but it isn't the same without Sakaguchi.  Even so, Kingdom Hearts is awesome and Nomura is a great game designer(and IMHO, a pretty good storyteller as well)

Around the Network

I choose A.

Do I get a prize haha.

I think some though are developer's choice. I mean people think userbase equals higher sales but actually sometimes exclusives on unsaturated markets equal big sales as well. Aka Tales of Symphonia on GC, RE4 on GC, ect. These kinds of mindsets aren't false and normally work quite well. Releasing a certain type of game on a console that has no competition in that area makes quite alot of sense so that may be some of the reasoning behind these things as well.

Unfortunately with alot of those JRPGS coming to 360 this idea if used by devs is going to crumble and fall apart and more than likely stop working that way. Because now they can use that same theory and combine it with the first theory and have double the chance.

Yes you are exactly right MS pays everyone to put there games on their system. It has nothing to do with how badly the PS3 is selling.
