Just saying. Even if it did more then triple... and they sold 33 million blu-ray discs in the US... for a total of 44 million at the end of the year in the US...
They'd still be 84 Million discs behind DVD at that point in it's lifespan.
Considering during februrary it was reported total blu-ray sales in europe had just passed 2 million...
Worldwide blu-ray sales are severly lagging behind US only DVD sales during the same time of life.
Blu-rays are being bought. Just in very small numbers.
When you take in adoption rates by looking at how successful movie rates were adopted. Blu-ray isn't going to be a major force in movies for 2-3 years... by then there should be better Blu-ray players for cheaper then the PS3.
That's if you assume the public is going to buy in on it with the movie companies trying to push them... as Laserdisc and failed formats had similar gains before falling off.
