Forums - Gaming - From a hardware standpoint, isn't the PS3 the best?

whether it's the most powerful or not compared to the 360 right now is debatable, but if we compared to it's predecessor it is much better obviously from both a hardware and online aspect since the PS2 did not have that before.

The reason it being an all-around entertainment gaming system is good because if you don't want to play games, you can use it for something else. It's better than not having a game to play and leaving your system collecting dust.

As well, for a system with so much stuff inside of it, it is the most reliable. it doesn't have the RROD that the 360 gets and people that do get them have to wait a week of no gaming to get it back and some people had to have done that up to 10 times i heard!

the PS3 gets those slight disc read errors but it doesn't kill the whole system at least.

I think Sony improved their hardware console making skills from the past and that has to mean something given how the PS2 had such a high disc read error rate.

Moral of the story is, yes it is expensive, but isn't that why people buy the more expensive product? they want reliability?

It would seem most people disagree with you on that point.

Developers don't seem to think so given how much they whine about it. Perhaps from a consumer standpoint it is the most versatile/powerful hardware however.

they are all good, but the ps3 and 360 might be equally powerful.
