uh, RB2 is going to have 84 songs on disc, Im going to assume that if GHWT has more, its going to only be a couple more, and with (as per Harmonix at E3) 500 songs available to play by the holidays via DLC, which they might not hit, but even if they get 300 or 400 songs ready by the end of November thats going to be a couple more than is available to GHWT. Right now I think there are around 150 or 160 songs available for download in Rock Band. As for the songs, I dont see anything very different here than what is offered in the Rock Band franchise, its nice to see they have Beat It, but that song does get a bit repetitive musically. |
Yeah I don't know how many WT is supposed to have but they made the claim that they will have the most songs on disc of any Music/Rythym game and that they would all be master recordings. I doubt they are lying but I also doubt they will have anything but a handful more than RB2.
As for the 500 songs, I really don't think sheer number is a comparison harmonix wants to make. Any song RB2 has will be available for DL for free on GH:WT probably within a few weeks of its launch. The music editor is the ultimate trump card for the track lists.
The quality of the track list is pretty much the thing Harmonix tries to hammer home and thats essentially a personal taste issue so no point in debating that.
As I've mentioned several times the choice is simple for Wii/PS2 owners, dump RB and get GH: World Tour, its just a flat out better game for them. But for the 360/PS3 I think if you're already on the RB side of the game you can probably stick it out until next year when Harmonix adds their own twist on the music editor, and they will probably up the ante in the process. Everyone else who wants to get into the music/rythym genre this year should probably be looking at GH though.
@Topic,
I do find it interesting that Beat It is on the list, it was one of the strange songs on the "Fake!" list that was posted a week or so ago. Unfortunately some of these songs weren't on that list so we know for sure it wasn't "the" list.
The list itself is definitely solid, I actually think Joker is the song I'm most excited about out of the bunch, but then I like SMB.
