I am really really frustrated right now. I swear to god I would never buy a phillips product anymore.

 

4 months ago(well 1st week of May probably until 1st week of August) I bought a Phillips backphone with noise cancelling.

Just now the thing crapped out on me. When I move the wiring a little, it losses it's stereo quality and that's VERY VERY unpleasant.

 

Any suggestions for a good product which is a bit on the affordable side but has great sound quality. If you know some with Noise Cancelling care to add.


Remember:

NOT SUPER CHEAP to the point that it drags the quality with it.

MORE to the AFFORDABLE side.

GOOD QUALITY.

NOT A PHILLIPS PRODUCT!

I'm assuming that this "backphone" is just a set of wired headphones but with the plastic around the back instead of over your head. If that is the case I have the following suggestion.

buy a soldering iron and pop open the headphones. Find the wire that when you shake it, the sound cuts out. Check the connection, and if it looks lose, then re-solder it. Else, you could just replace the entire wire. It'll save you lots of $$$ over time if you do this for all sorts of electronics and you'll even learn something along the way and it really isn't all that hard.

Your headphones may not look as pretty, but it would cost you ~$0.50 if you already owned a soldering iron and solder. If you had to buy a new 1/8" plug, then that would cost you ~$3




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I don't know about backphones, but SkullCandy has quality headphones for varying price.

I found where the problem is. It's near the plug. Problem is the wiring is thin and the thing is divided into two segments. Backphones wiring goes to the noise cancelling then the noise cancelling has another wiring which is the plug. I'm afraid if I splice the thin wiring, it might destroy the whole thing.
