Atlus loves PS2=confirmed. Seems like it is one of those games that were made mostly for the Japanese audience like Ar Tonelico

Yep, this and Ar Tonelico 2 looks great.

@ kasz

It seems that Atlus is trying to get their fans to upgrade with their 3 Xbox 360 exclusives. (although they don't seem successful, but that's just because Operation Darkness sucked.)

And Spectral Forces 3 is following suit (4.9 on IGN). Besides, those titles weren't developed by Atlus, just published by Atlus USA. We haven't yet seen any Atlus title for a nex gen console except for Trauma Center

that's because Idea Factorty continually makes generic RPG's over and over again.

Can't they even make any game that is innovative.  Then again, execution is more important that innovation. i.e. Lost Odyssey  Also, the more unique JRPGs like Persona 3 and TWEWY gets treated better than the average non FF JRPG

Is this a new RPG or one that got an American release?

edit: nevermind, I didn't read the press release.

Meh I prefer SMT.

Not so much loves as fears like hell the next generation, because the PS3 isn't the PS2 and they aren't sure where their very small niche audience is... and if they've even upgraded systems yet.

(Most atlus fans i know haven't...)

Being a SRPG i'll get it at some point.  I just can't not get a SRPG eventually unless it's got some crippling flaw making it physically unplayable (operation darkness)... or i wait for it, don't get it in release and it becomes some expensive rare gem.

I have but my ps3 is BC so I really don't mind. Looks like I'll be getting both this and Persona 4

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

That's just because HD consoles have artificial graphic requirements.

From what i've read in the reveiws the gameplay is pretty good standard JRPG goodness it's just the promise of good visuals doesn't play through.

That's one problem SRPGs and RPGs are mostly made by your small studios who can't afford big time graphics. I mean look at the Metacritic exerts... most notably

"Pretty or not, no JRPG on the 360 has the edge on Spectral Force 3 in terms of gameplay. In other words, it has a great personality."

Metacritic review score... 67?!

Metacritic scores are based on hype. I usually use gamefaqs reader reviews and GT reviews (because of the video proof) to determine my purchases.

Not always. *looks at the wide range of score for games like Assassin's Creed*
