Forums - Sony - Trading in... a risk?

I have a wii thats, well just been lurking around collecting dust, begging me to play it. I might trade it in and buy a pre-owned PS3. Shall I do it or not?

NO!!!

If you really want to get rid of it for a PS3, sell it on Ebay with everything. You will get nearly every penny you've spent since so many other people want one.

Then after you've been paid, use that to buy an older backwards compatible PS3 model off of ebay for the same amount of money. Since they are selling for much less on Ebay than retail.

:)

Yeah, trading it in to Gamestop will net you pennies on the dollar.

Selling on ebay will net you an almost equal trade, in cash!, rather than "store credit".

So how long do you think it will take to sell on ebay? I have to use .co.uk 'cause I live in the UK.

I'll only have to add £72 to get a PS3, but the big thing it that is it really worth to get a pre-owned PS3?

It UK is similar to the US, you can post it for 1 day and get the same results. I would query ebay and see how much the average price is for a Wii with your similar accessories and games.

Then if you feel more comfortable put it for 3 days as a maximum. Make sure you are honest in your auction. If you know its in perfect condition then say so and offer a warranty for defects to make people feel all cozy.

I don't know if the UK ever had a backwards compatible PS3, but if they did, and you can find one, then yes, definitely.  Especially if you never owned a PS2.

I owned a PS2 and dont really play it (360 FTW!).

Ebay is a good choice, but if the trade in credit is good enough then it isn't a bad deal. You generally get more when you trade it in for credit than for cash.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
